MUSEUM NAMED AFTER ME
creative workshop for teenagers (13-17 years old)
12 classes
WHERE: Haifa, Craft Theatre art center, ha-Nassi 135
WHEN: Once a week on Wednesdays, from 17:00 to 19:00 (from March 12 to May 28)
PRICE: 250 shekels for 4 classes, 700 shekels for a one-time payment for a course of 12 classes.
FOR WHO: for teenagers who want to learn more about their family history and memory, about the place from which they moved to Israel, to collect their own “box of important memories”.
ABOUT WHAT: in the classes we will learn to look at the things that surround us in everyday life as future museum exhibits, and together we will come up with a museum that tells about us.
WHAT WE WILL DO:
- study projects dedicated to private history and memory that already exist in the museum world, urban culture, cinema and literature.
- interview each other and older relatives,
- sort out home collections and archives
- do storytelling exercises,
- work with original objects and look for figurative equivalents for things that are not at hand.

RESULT: a group exhibition-presentation of the participants' projects.

HOST: Liza Spivakovskaya. Art critic, curator, expert in the field of contemporary theater. She has implemented numerous theater, exhibition projects and pedagogical projects, including at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Meyerhold Center. Head of a similar art project "Memory Laboratory" in the youth department of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. Author of the art research project "Exhibition of Things". Leading youth programs of the Jewish Agency SOKHNUT in Moscow.
