"Book Club of Reflections"

An unusual story happened. In December, a girl came to our book club – Katya, 8 years old. Smart, inquisitive, with a thousand ideas... but reading was a punishment for her.
As soon as she opened a book, urgent things immediately appeared: drink some water, check the toys, urgently tell something important. And if she did start reading, the letters blurred, the meaning eluded her, and the desire to continue disappeared after a couple of lines.
Parents warned and worried that nothing would come of it, because she:
❌ Gets confused in words and loses lines.
❌ Reads slowly and without understanding.
❌ Cannot retell the text.
❌ Just doesn’t want to pick up a book!
And we started working. But not to force her to read more – instead, I suggested that Katya become the hero of the story, a detective.
🔎 Read in roles to make the text come to life. 🎭 Acted out scenes from the book, like in the theater.
💬 Discussed and argued about why the hero acted this way and not another.
🎲 Game tasks - looked for clues in the text, solved riddles, made maps of events.
In a small group, she saw interested, happy children and after a few meetings, she herself began to take the initiative in reading in roles and games.
💕Motivation is the most important achievement, which will help to overcome all difficulties later!
If suddenly your child does not like to read, gets confused, loses interest and meaning - perhaps he just needs a different approach!
We are looking for several kids aged 8-12 to join our group:
📅 Saturday – 13:00 (Moscow time)
📅 Sunday – 10:00 and 12:00 (Moscow time)
